Background
One of the major goals of the Italian olive oil company that was famous for its artisanal products was to change its packaging by introducing a stylish oil vinegar bottle design. Their idea was to package their exquisite oils and vinegars in a bottle that would be an honest mirror of the quality and authenticity. The brand came to Minghanggroup with the idea of a bottle that would blend Italian style with durable functionality and at the same time elevate the overall presentation of their gourmet collection.
Our Challenges
The client was dealing with poorly matched glass bottles from local suppliers, that is the bottles had different thickness, the neck openings were not even, and there were very few choices for customization. These problems caused leakage during transport and the visual difference between the various product lines made the overall look of the products ugly. They were in need of a trustworthy manufacturer who could create top-quality, leak-proof oil vinegar bottles that would look the same and have customizable details.
Problem Analysis
Upon inspection of the samples and the methods of production, we came to know that the three biggest problems were: inconsistency of the bottles, sealing issues, and lack of branding flexibility. The irregular sizes caused the sealing of the bottles to be done in the wrong way, at the same time generic shapes were not good enough for the company’s premium image. To solve this problem, it was necessary to create a new mold and improve the glass quality so that it was strong and clear.
Solution
Minghanggroup created a new mold for an oil vinegar bottle that was designed specifically for the needs of the brand. We changed the bottle geometry to get a smooth neck finish and were able to accurately control the capacity, thereby, making the cap and pourer fit perfectly. The glass was of high transparency in order to show the golden olive oil and the dark vinegar, at the same time the brand was strengthened and separated from the competition by using custom embossing.
Results
The oil vinegar bottle that was redesigned is now capable of perfect sealing, it is stronger and the aesthetic is cohesive throughout the product line. The client is saying that the retail appeal has increased and the logistics have become more efficient. It is Minghanggroup’s thoroughness and technical expertise that helped the Italian company to project a premium and dependable image in both the local and foreign markets.
